LuminaProse is a service operated by Achieve Pro Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (Companies House number provided on request). References to "we", "us", or "our" in these Terms mean Achieve Pro Limited. References to "LuminaProse", "the Service", or "the platform" mean the software application available at the domain operated by Achieve Pro Limited.
By creating an account or using LuminaProse, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
LuminaProse is an AI-assisted fiction writing platform that helps authors plan, draft, and manage novels and other long-form creative works. The Service includes a manuscript editor, story bible (characters, locations, themes), arc and outline planning, AI generation and editing tools, chapter management, and version history.
AI functionality is provided by routing requests through OpenRouter (a third-party AI aggregation service) to underlying model providers including but not limited to DeepSeek, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and xAI. The specific models available may change over time. On the Free plan, AI is powered by DeepSeek Flash. Paid plans unlock additional models. BYOK ("Bring Your Own Key") plan users may supply their own OpenRouter API key to access models at provider cost with no markup.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
You must be at least 13 years of age to use LuminaProse. By creating an account you confirm you meet this requirement. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@luminaprose.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
You may not create accounts on behalf of others without their consent, or create multiple accounts to circumvent usage limits or suspensions. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You retain full ownership and copyright of all content you create using LuminaProse — this includes your manuscripts, characters, locations, story outlines, beats, and any other creative work you input or generate. We make no claim to ownership of your creative work.
By using the Service, you grant Achieve Pro Limited a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, and transmit your content solely to the extent necessary to operate and deliver the Service to you. This licence ends when you delete the relevant content or close your account.
Staff access: Employees, contractors, and agents of Achieve Pro Limited will never read, review, or access the content of your manuscripts, story bible, characters, or any other creative work stored in LuminaProse, except in the following circumstances: (a) you have explicitly requested this in writing (for example, when raising a technical support ticket that requires us to inspect specific content to diagnose a problem); or (b) we are required to do so by law or a valid court order. Any such access will be limited to what is strictly necessary and logged.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that any content you create or upload does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others.
AI-generated text is produced by third-party model providers (via OpenRouter) and is provided "as is". We do not guarantee the accuracy, originality, or quality of AI-generated output. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and taking ownership of any content you publish or use commercially. Copyright status of AI-generated content is an evolving area of law; you should seek independent legal advice if this is material to your use case.
When you submit content to the AI (prompts, manuscript extracts, character descriptions), that content is transmitted through OpenRouter to the relevant model provider. Each provider has its own data retention and usage policies. OpenRouter's privacy policy is available at openrouter.ai. We recommend reviewing the policies of the specific model providers you use. We do not use your content to train any AI models.
You agree not to use LuminaProse to:
Fiction writing often explores dark, morally complex, or mature themes. This is legitimate and we support it. The restriction above is on targeted real-world harm, not on fictional content involving violence, morally ambiguous characters, or adult themes within the context of creative writing.
LuminaProse offers the following plans: Free (no charge), BYOK ($10/month), Starter ($15/month), Pro ($30/month), and Ultimate ($80/month). Plan features, AI credit allocations, and model access tiers are described on the Pricing page and may be updated with notice.
Payments are processed by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd / Stripe Inc). By subscribing, you authorise Stripe to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis. Your card details are held by Stripe; we do not store or have access to your full card number.
Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time via the billing portal (accessible from your account settings). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain full access until that date. You will not be charged again after cancellation.
Refunds: We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused AI credits. If there is a billing error on our part, contact us within 14 days and we will investigate and issue a correction where appropriate.
Plan changes: You may upgrade or downgrade your plan via the billing portal. Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. On downgrade, manuscripts beyond the Free plan limit (2) are archived and inaccessible until you re-subscribe; no content is deleted.
We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice to existing subscribers. If you do not accept a price change, you may cancel before the new price takes effect.
Each paid plan includes a monthly AI credit allocation (denominated in USD equivalent). Credits represent the cost of AI model usage at our published rates. Unused credits do not roll over to the next month. The Free plan includes a small monthly credit allowance. BYOK plan users supply their own OpenRouter API key and bear their own provider costs directly; no platform credits are consumed.
If your AI credit balance is exhausted within a billing period, AI generation features will be paused until the next renewal. Non-AI features (editor, story bible, version history) remain fully accessible.
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be unavailable during scheduled maintenance or due to circumstances outside our control (including third-party AI provider outages). We will endeavour to communicate planned downtime in advance.
To the maximum extent permitted by English law, Achieve Pro Limited's total liability to you in connection with the Service shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, including loss of profits or loss of data, arising from your use of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. On closure, your data will be deleted within 90 days, subject to any legal retention obligations. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms and, where the breach is capable of remedy, fail to remedy it within 14 days of written notice.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer in Scotland or Northern Ireland in which case local courts may have jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
